OAC was established in 1984 when pesticide registration was largely voluntary. In 1986 statutory control of pesticides was introduced and with it more formal requirements for supporting data. This has been followed by the implementation of directive 91/414/EC and the progressive introduction of Annex II and Annex III data requirements. OAC have been continuously involved in these changes and are experts in the preparation and execution of registration packages.
Registration authorities are increasingly asking applicants to submit overviews at all levels of data submission. These overviews must be based on a proposed use label. OAC are experienced in translating field and laboratory data into label recommendations. From the labels we are able to write overviews on residues, efficacy, wild-life and environmental effects. We are able to put together complete packages of data for registration purposes.
Other areas of specialisation include:
UK and Eire registrations. We control over 200 products on a continuous basis.
Operator exposure is an area of expertise needing both field and chemistry interactions.
We are involved in several UK and EU reviews of old active ingredients.
Design and co-ordination of fate and break-down studies and environmental impact studies
Biocides
The regulatory expertise of Oxford Agricultural Consultants Ltd on pesticides has also been expanded to cover biocides. OAC have obtained considerable expertise in the field of biocidal registration, including label writing, and as a result have obtained approval of many active ingredients and formulated product registrations through the HSE.
