OAC was established in 1984 by Richard (Dick) Makepeace, at a time when the registration of plant protection products was largely voluntary. In 1986 statutory control of plant protection products was introduced and with it more formal requirements for the submission of data and risk assessment at national and European level. OAC has been actively involved in supporting the registration of plant protection products throughout this period, helping our clients to adapt to the requirements of both European legislation, such as Directive 91/414/EC and Regulation 1107/2009, and also UK legislation. At OAC, we are experts in the planning, development and preparation of registration packages for the UK and Ireland. Moreover, looking to the near future we are preparing to support zonal approvals for plant protection products, which while voluntary under Directive 91/414/EC will become mandatory under Regulation 1107/2009. In addition over recent years, we have expanded our expertise to cover the regulation of biocides and adjuvants, leading to a strong track record not only of securing the approval of plant protection products in the UK and Ireland but also gaining approval of biocidal products and active ingredients. |
